Welcome to The Here and Now: A Jersey Shore Guide to Energy Healing, Sound Baths, and Presence
In a world that constantly pulls us out of ourselves, many of us are quietly searching for one simple thing: a way to feel present again.
Between work stress, emotional overload, constant notifications, and the pace of everyday life, it’s easy to feel disconnected, from our bodies, from our breath, and from the moment we’re actually living in. That’s where energy healing comes in, and that’s why The Here and Now exists.
I’m Kevin Dusenberry, an energy healer serving the Jersey Shore, primarily Monmouth and Ocean Counties. Through sound healing, sound baths, Reiki, crystal Reiki, and guided meditation, my work is centered on helping people slow down, reset, and reconnect, without pressure, judgment, or expectations.
This blog is the beginning of a daily series exploring what that actually looks like.
Why “The Here and Now” Matters
So much of our stress comes from being everywhere but here:
Replaying the past
Worrying about the future
Carrying emotional and energetic weight that isn’t ours anymore
Energy healing invites us back into the present moment, the only place where the body can relax and healing can begin.
At The Here and Now, the focus isn’t on fixing you. It’s on creating the space where your nervous system can finally exhale.
What Is Energy Healing, Really?
Energy healing is a gentle, non-invasive practice that works with the body’s natural energetic field. While techniques like Reiki and sound healing may feel subtle, their effects are often deeply felt, especially by those who are stressed, emotionally overwhelmed, or energetically drained.
People often come to energy healing because:
They feel anxious or overstimulated
They’re emotionally stuck or burnt out
Traditional relaxation methods haven’t worked
They want a deeper sense of grounding and calm
You don’t need to “believe” in energy healing for it to be effective. You only need to show up.
Sound Healing and Sound Baths: Vibrational Rest
Sound healing uses instruments like crystal singing bowls, chimes, and gentle tones to guide the body into a deeply relaxed state. During a sound bath, you don’t do anything, you simply receive.
Sound works directly with the nervous system, often helping people:
Slow racing thoughts
Release tension stored in the body
Enter a meditative state effortlessly
Feel more grounded and present afterward
Living along the Jersey Shore, many people already understand how sound affects the body, the rhythm of the ocean, the crash of waves, the quiet that settles in after. Sound baths work in a similar way, using vibration to bring the body back into balance.
Reiki and Crystal Reiki: Subtle, Supportive, Grounding
Reiki is a hands-on (or hands-off) energy healing practice that supports the body’s natural ability to regulate and restore itself. Crystal Reiki builds on this by incorporating crystals, which are often used to amplify intention and energetic flow.
During a Reiki session, people may experience:
Deep relaxation
Emotional release
A sense of warmth or tingling
Mental clarity or calm
Others simply feel rested, sometimes more rested than after sleep. Every experience is different, and all of them are valid.
Guided Meditation: Presence Without Pressure
Meditation doesn’t have to be silent, rigid, or intimidating.
Guided meditation offers structure and support, especially for those who find it difficult to quiet the mind on their own. Through gentle verbal guidance, you’re invited into the present moment in a way that feels accessible and human.
Many clients in Monmouth and Ocean Counties come to guided meditation because they:
Feel overwhelmed or disconnected
Want grounding without spiritual overwhelm
Prefer guidance instead of silence
